A Cozy Retreat at Coffee & Plant in Nairobi

A Cozy Retreat at Coffee & Plant in Nairobi

Last Saturday morning, I visited Coffee & Plant on General Mathenge Road in Nairobi, and it was an experience that truly brightened my day. As I stepped into the cafe, I could feel the vibrant atmosphere immediately. The scent of freshly brewed coffee mingled with the aroma of delightful plant-based dishes. It was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy some quality time.

I had heard great things about their offerings, especially the mocha, hug in a mug, and hot chocolate. After scanning the menu, I decided to indulge in the mocha. It was rich, creamy, and thoughtfully crafted, hitting all the right notes. Alongside my coffee, I couldn't resist trying some gluten-free desserts recommended by a friend, and they did not disappoint! The dessert was a delicious addition to my experience, easily making it my go-to place for sweet treats.

The decor of Coffee & Plant is equally appealing with good spacing between tables, allowing for private conversations. I truly appreciated this setting as I caught up with a friend over our meals. The atmosphere was both relaxing and inviting, making it easy to forget about the world outside for a while. As we enjoyed our drinks, I also interjected into a few conversations with the friendly staff. One attendant, whose name I regret not catching, was particularly helpful, assisting me in choosing from their diverse menu.

Speaking of the menu, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of options available, especially for vegetarians and vegans. I noticed their za’atar cashew cheese was a popular choice among fellow diners and had to give it a try myself. The fresh, vibrant taste of the dishes brought a comforting warmth that fit the cozy environment perfectly. The menu also offers 'no onion, no garlic' options, demonstrating their commitment to catering for all dietary preferences.

During my visit, I was further impressed by how accommodating the staff were. I overheard a diner mention that they didn’t enjoy their spiced coffee, and without hesitation, the staff replaced it with a different variety at no extra charge. This level of customer service is certainly commendable and shows how much they value their guests’ experiences.

Perhaps the highlight of my trip was recognizing the great value the dishes and drinks offered. It was evident that everything, from the delicious food to the high-quality coffee, was reasonably priced, ensuring that guests can enjoy a memorable dining experience without breaking the bank.

As I finished my time at Coffee & Plant, I couldn’t help but reflect on how this café is going to be my go-to spot in Nairobi. It’s a wonderful fusion of great food, friendly service, and an inviting ambiance. If you find yourself near General Mathenge Road, do yourself a favor and stop by for a meal or drink; I guarantee you'll leave with a smile!
