Mavericks Express Nairobi: A Hidden Gem for Shawarma, Pizza & Fries – My Honest Review

I recently visited Mavericks Express in Nairobi on a warm April afternoon, and I have to say—it’s quickly become my go-to spot for delicious, affordable fast food. I went in around 1:35 PM on April 1, 2026, craving something hearty, and the experience was nothing short of amazing.

From the moment I walked in, the customer service stood out. The waitress, Welcome, greeted me with a genuine smile and helped me decide what to order. She recommended their famous shawarma and a side of fries, which I’d seen rave reviews about. I went for the shawarma and an order of pizza & chips to share with a friend. The food came out quickly, and the presentation was spot on.

The shawarma was packed with flavor—juicy meat, fresh veggies, and a perfect garlic sauce. The pizza 🍕 & chips were equally delicious; the pizza had a crispy crust and generous toppings, while the chips were golden and perfectly salted. I also tried their fries on another visit (April 26 at 6:06 PM), and they’re absolutely 'love love'em' worthy—crispy on the outside, fluffy inside.

I’ve been back multiple times, and the consistency is impressive. While some reviewers mentioned that beef and chicken ingredients sometimes feel less fresh, I personally found everything fresh and well-prepared. The weekly deals are a nice bonus—great value for regulars. The customer service is always top-notch; all the waitresses are welcoming, especially Welcome, who ensures your experience is perfect.

Located right in Nairobi, Mavericks Express is my definite go-to restaurant around my residence. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner, you’ll leave satisfied. Highly recommend the shawarma, pizza, and fries—and don’t forget to say hi to Welcome!
